Glad Rags Glamour

The film, The Great Gatsby, has inspired us all to be taken back to the twenties overindulgence for pearls, feathers, headdresses and heavy embellishment.
Instead of overloading on the twenties flapper-style, go for details like heavy beaded and embellished dresses and Art Deco-inspired jewellery.
I know we would all love to buy a Jenny Packham gown to enhance our inspired expression, but for me that isn’t going to transpire- unless someone is offering…?

Summer Blush

A wave of blushed hues has hit the catwalks for the upcoming Autumn Winter 13/14 trend, so I thought why not start early. As the summer continues (temperatures are varying) I wanted to add an instantaneous burst of femininity to my evening outfit. Although, last year’s successful trend was the pleated skirt, this has been proven to continue throughout the year.
Last night I wore a combination of sheer fabrics, inspired by Erdem SS13, and I flung on my cute new pleated skirt. Luxurious fabrics, quiet details and simple lines were what I was trying to achieve. I felt so girly and it was a great outfit to keep cool on a warm summer evening.

When One Door Closes, Another Opens

Well this is an embarrassingly overdue blog post, apologies! What a busy last few months I have had, I just don’t know where to start.
I won’t bore you with my habit of telling every detail of every part of stories, but what I will tell you is this:
I have finally finished my BA Honours Fashion degree which came out with the classification of a First! I really worked my arse off on my final collection and I was selected to showcase on the catwalk of Graduate Fashion Week in London. This was one of my proudest moments for me and it gave me the opportunity to rub shoulders with industry and have a small taste of what the future holds for when I finally venture out into the job world (the thought gives me a mini heart attack).
My collection focus point was using the materials of fur and leather; I explored different ways working with fur… I will bore you with that in another post.
Starting September I will be moving on from my University to another to embark on a Masters in Fashion, I’m so excited and I can’t wait to explore my specialism in fur and leather even further.
Anyway; I tried to be brief as possible, here’s a quick simple outfit post.
