Let the Trousers do the Talking

Autumn/Winter 12 reflected a dark and romantic kind, to rich and lavish brocades with extravagant ornate Baroque style. One designer caught my eye this season with their eccentric artistic elegance and neon/electric colours- Erdem. Classic shapes with a surge of colour with large lace which has conveyed the old style of Baroque- border line bad taste, right up to date. 

As usual I was in Marks and Spencer with my mother faffing about and she came across a pair of trousers which to my instant thought “Oh wow they are outrageous”, but in point of fact, paired with a simple black vest, tailored jacket and heels this could go down quite well. These trousers also offer elements of the current trends including; colour palette, print and shape. So why not? I thought; “Be wild and wear some bladdy outrageous trousers for once!”

Like a Boy

As Vogue put as a trend this Autumn/Winter 12-13; “The Rise of Oversize” is essential when wrapping up warm. Steal your Boyfriend’s, Dad’s, Grandfather’s jumpers to create the oversized look- paired with some heels to keep it feminine this season. I spotted this blue, thin knit jumper hanging in my dad’s wardrobe today, and I just had to get my mucky mitts on it! I can’t stand the fact it’s starting to get colder and rainy already, so despondently the time has come to whip out the rainmacs and woollen jumpers. Then again, all the new trends are being published for the new season now- so I presume it’s an excuse to purchase a new jacket...jumper…pair of boots, or two!

Summer Nights

I always think metallic shades, fabrics, jewellery are great to show off your summer tan. I went out the other night for a few drinks (maybe more than a few…) with some friends from home. I thought my cute new French Connection shorts would complement my tan- whilst it lasts, if only they never faded. I also thought it was time to whip out my cute new leather bag from Jaeger- perfect for times when you just can’t be arsed to lug that bloody heavy handbag about (I heard its aging to carry a heavy handbag- Different?!).

Nothing but my Birthday Suit

As promised before, I was going to share with you what I wore for my 21st birthday. It took me two months to find this dress- searched all over Leeds and London which was just shambolic as there was NOTHING! I also had the dilemma of finding some shoes to go with the dress, as the dress I had chosen was heavily embellished. Therefore, I needed something simple, yet I insisted on ridiculously high shoes. Nightmare- but I would rather be picky than hideously panic buy, then regret- which I feel is an easy mistake to fall into when you're restricted for time (yes we are all guilty for it- “STEP AWAY from the black paintent platforms Charlotte, they will not go with everything!”- “If you buy shoes from Topshop- YOU ARE NOT CHEATING on Kurt Geiger!”).

The outfit finally came together just days before the party and I was very pleased with my choice!

Thailand Baby

Sorry for the lack of posts but I went travelling around Thailand for three weeks, they were some of the best moments of my life. It was amazing to let my hair down and not make an effort (well to an extent) with what I was wearing. The trip gave me time to reflect and prepare myself for a busy final university year.
