The Gentlemen’s Club

This Seasons- Pocket silk prints for the casual-luxurious look has really hit the High Street with a storm.
Super brands such as Prada, Marc Jacobs and Christopher Kane started off this, almost androgynous style using graphic Seventies prints cut into sharp trouser suits and skirts.

Squeezing through the awful sale crowds in Leeds City Centre today with my mother really was a challenge. From gluttonous/weirdo women taking up 4 chairs in bursting-ly busy cafes to people stood in the middle of walkways with prams containing screaming children- “Move out of the way, I’m on a mission”. I despise spending the day browsing slowly about sales, like a retail sloth. It’s an operation that has a lot of skill- I like to be in and out- Done. My sale-chaos-pain had disappeared when coming across this fabulous “pocket print” style jacket from Warehouse. In fact we found two!

Crystallized Christmas

When it comes to Christmas celebrations, I don’t know about you- but all I can think about is; sequins and embellishment. I just want to leave a trail of glitter, pearls and crystals everywhere I step. As we extend into winter there is an apparent affection towards opulent, dramatic accessories. Although they are mainly seen as the finishing touch, they release a fantasy within fashion. We want to embrace the seasonal sparkle through endless accessorising in lavish/luxurious jewellery. I’m currently fantasising on what form of embellishment I will be wearing on New Year’s Eve, if I could have it my way I would wear a chandelier! Now that would certainly stand out.
Anyway, here are a few snaps from my festivities.

Let the Trousers do the Talking

Autumn/Winter 12 reflected a dark and romantic kind, to rich and lavish brocades with extravagant ornate Baroque style. One designer caught my eye this season with their eccentric artistic elegance and neon/electric colours- Erdem. Classic shapes with a surge of colour with large lace which has conveyed the old style of Baroque- border line bad taste, right up to date.

As usual I was in Marks and Spencer with my mother faffing about and she came across a pair of trousers which to my instant thought “Oh wow they are outrageous”, but in point of fact, paired with a simple black vest, tailored jacket and heels this could go down quite well. These trousers also offer elements of the current trends including; colour palette, print and shape. So why not? I thought; “Be wild and wear some bladdy outrageous trousers for once!”
