Show ya Mo’

Gosh, what a week it has been! I literally have been so stressed over university work- anticipation for my blaaaady grades- so far so good, pretty chuffed with myself on the feedback I have recently received. I can now just chill out… NOT.
We have started a whole new live module which is quite important- so today I had to drag myself out of my toasty warm bed to get my tired arse down in London. This was for a whole day of store reports and V&A fashion archive exploration.
Store reports- successful, V&A fashion archive- unsuccessful- blugghh. The museum have decided to referb the section with all the clothes so it is shut down at the moment- great- NOT. So me and my pal Rosie decided to check out the gift shop for some post card inspo for our work- forget the post cards I FOUND A LEATHER MOUSTACHE. You may think I have gone a little crazy but I’m slightly obsessed with moustaches- anything with them on- jewellery, T-shirts, mugs- you name it- weirdly not so keen on the real thing, seriously boys shave that thing off!
Anyway thought I would just step away from my uni work for tonight and show you my Mo’!

Merry Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas eve everybody! I have been so busy today where I have realised how much f-ing work I have to do over the break, I kind of hyperventilated a little, but still its xmas eve so that's my excuse of just forgetting about it for just the weekend!
Tonight I will be having champagne and nibbles, watching films and eating loads with my family. I hope you are all enjoying your holiday break!
Thought I would do a quick outfit post to show you what I’m wearing tonight, keeping it comfy as I’m not going out but still adding a little glamour- as its Christmas after all!

Skirt- H&M- I believe everybody should have a black simple cotton maxi skirt as its suitable for daytime and evening wear.
Chiffon top knotted- Valentino
Jewellery: Necklace from Turkey, cuff from the clothes show
I would like to apologise for the crap quality of my photos as I don't have my wonderful housemate Rosie and her camera to take photos of me- nightmare!
Have a wonderful evening,
Charlotte xx

A bit more Vintage

So today I finally finished my essay, which consisted of me sitting in the library for 7 1/2 hours… seriously not cool, my brain feels like fried mush! I’m so pleased I have got it over and done with because I needed to get it handed in early. This is because I will be missing the last week of Uni- no I’m not going on holiday, I wish, I’m attending a trend forecasting course at Central St Martins. Will blog once I have completed it to show you what it consisted of. So anyway this week is so hectic along with having to hand all my work in early, pack my room up for Christmas and GET THIS… Redrock fashion asked my friend Rosie to be the photographer and direct a shoot for the brand that will be used for ASOS, I have been asked to model this and help style- pretty scary as my mug shot will be up on ASOS but still how exciting! So before this I thought I would do another Vintage inspired post as Redrock specialise in vintage, so it may exercise my brain a little for tomorrow (baring in mind I just did a 2500 word essay on the Ford Model T- yawwwwwn).

Yes I bullied my friend Rosie to fish tail plait my hair… absolute Beaut!
I then added my most favourite piece of Vintage, my beaded jacket. Sadly I don't get to wear it much as the beads just fall off and its pretty painful when you stand on one bare footed- ouchy! But I thought I would whip it out for fun- I got this from a place called Trashy Flowers in Northampton, but sadly the vintage shop closed- luckily they are still online.
Wish me and Rosie Luck for Tomorrow

Pretty In Vintage

This weekend I will be doing some work experience with Redrock Fashion at the Clothes Show in Birmingham! I’m so excited, last year I worked back stage of the main show dressing the models and dancers- it was absolutely amazing! I cannot describe the buzz back stage, you just have to be there to understand.
Redrock fashion take vintage clothes and alter them to a more stylish format, this year they will be having a stall at the clothes show, so if any of you are attending- please make sure you visit- definitely worth it!
Take a sneaky look at their website: http://www.redrockfashion.bigcartel.com/
So anyway, I decided to do an vintage inspired blog post- Hope you like the pictures…

I love my little burnt orange, leather shorts- the rouged high waist reminds me of Chloe style shorts- except mine are better because they are LEATHER and waaaaaaaay cheaper- £28 to be exact!  I bought them from Gone Retro, which is a vintage shop in Northampton. I also added my vintage Mochino waist belt, I think the little heart is so sweet and I don't normally go for things with hearts on as to me they come across as tacky- but this one is so titchy and beautiful!

I thought this outfit would look a little odd with flat shoes as the shorts are quite baggy which could make your legs look a little chunky monkey- so I squeezed on a pair of my ridiculously high heels- the higher the better. Yes they are high, and yes I can walk in them surprisingly… practise makes perfect.

I combined my look with some vintage/vintage inspired jewellery- yes I have gone vintage mad but this weekend I’m going to be surrounded by it, Pure Bliss!
The ring with the Jet stone in is from a jewellery shop in Leeds called Aladdin’s cave- It sells fabulous antique jewellery- little expensive but good investments. I was lucky enough to receive this on my 19th birthday from my parents- its a big bugger isn't it?
I got the green one in Turkey and the other ones from Camden Market… spoilt for choice in Camden, there's so many jewellery stands I went a bit buzurk and cross eyed there.
The cute necklace with a clock was from my friends for my birthday- I always wear it, so pretty.

Shirt- Warehouse, Bag- L.K.Bennett London, Hair flower- broach from H&M
I went a little accessory mad- but I don’t care, I like it!
Enjoy,

Sequin Shorts and Shiny All Sorts

I always enjoy returning home from university to packages addressed to me. Especially when I have had a stressful day in the machine room to find an ASOS package makes my mood just that little bit better…well to be fair I usually beam with happiness when receiving online clothes purchases- which seems to be an unhealthy habit of mine.
IMG_2436
Not only do I have an unhealthy online shopping addiction- I adore purchasing jewellery. From statement necklaces, to vintage dress rings, to strange animal/bug like jewellery! Yes bug jewels- I own a pair of Green fly earrings- some may think weird- I think genius!
So last weeks delivery consisted of a pair of multi-coloured sequined high waist hot pants from RARE. At first I thought they looked like a bedazzled nappy- but as soon as I slipped them on I thought wow these make me feel fab! I would never wear them without black tights as I cringe at the sight of bum check creases on show as this is very tacky! So keep it clean girls!
IMG_2444
I paired the outfit up with my clogs- well I like to think they are better than clogs as they make me feel about 6ft tall!
THE JEWELLERY! I added my cheap Primark £2 bangles with my leopard and zebra print bracelet which I have had since I was 14! My H&M owl ring and  a skull ring from the local vintage shop in Northampton- Most Marvellous Place to Shop. Finally I added one of my most favourite pieces of jewellery which is a statement necklace from the John Lewis Vintage jewellery section. My parents bought me this when they came to visit as  a treat- yes I ended up picking the most expensive piece with fossils in- but who could blame me? To me its beautiful- but really heavy may I add!
IMG_2461IMG_2464
IMG_2465
I wore the shorts with a plain black body from H&M, black chiffon Valentino top and black tights with massive ladders up each leg at the back from Marks and Sparks (yes the ladders are supposed to be there).
IMG_2487IMG_2453IMG_2481
As you can tell by the last image I was a very happy chap with my ASOS purchase… So maybe when your feeling down just try a bit of online retail therapy- the anticipation of it arriving is always a mood lifter!
