London Love

Recently I took some time out from my studies to visit London for some inspiration-Camden and Brick Lane to be precise.

I admire the unusual and different types of people that are around these two areas of London- they always reflect wild, fun and daring styles. I enjoy rummaging through the vintage silk scarfs, jewellery and furs so I can find a bargain to add to my perfectly hoarded collection at home.

I also took another visit to London a few weeks ago to explore different peoples street style for my sketch book- to gain inspiration for fabrics, layering, colour palette and shapes.

That day I whipped out the leather trousers to keep me warm, I also wore my Racoon vintage collar which I purchased to keep me warm on my visit to New York, my favourite boyfriend jacket from Zara with my “hairy bag” (my friends named the poor bag) from River Island.
Take a Look at the People I came across…

I can’t wait to take my findings and develop my ideas further into my sketch book… Will keep you updated!

Show Some Leg With Asymmetrical cuts

Although Winter is approaching fast…there’s no harm in whipping out your pins. Keeping it classy this Winter I believe not too show the whole shabang, just show a sneaky peak with a large slit from a full length skirt/maxi dress starting from mid thigh to the floor. If your more adventurous why try out my new favourite cut- Asymmetrical!

Elie Saab Spring/Summer 2012 collection showing large slits in the skirts, creating a large flash of the leg-elongating. Although these photos are from the Spring/Summer collection 2012 I feel gowns as such are very appropriate for the Christmas/New Year celebrations ahead if you want to bring some glamour back into your wardrobe or to create a show stopping effect!

I discovered my new love for asymmetrical cuts when surfing the clothing websitewww.inlovewithfashion.com which shows a large range of skirts and dresses consisting of this- my favourite being:

I purchased this to wear at my best friends 21st which was perfect! They also have similar styles with different patterns- including snake print which is a favourite Autumn/Winter 2011-12 trend.

Enjoy,

Tweed and Tartan

This Autumn/Winter wrapping up warm in country like wear is a must have. Tartan and Tweed is the key fabric to double up on in your wardrobe this season. This look is inspired by the early eighties showing glamour and attitude to enhance elegance and sophistication. The fabric to me represents having a natural feel towards luxury.
My Tweed and Tartan inspiration;

I have dug deep into my wardrobe and pulled out some cute tailored tartan/tweed jackets which I will be wearing this Autumn before it gets really cold, maybe I will even add a fur collar to them to keep warm;
